Broken asus maximus vii hero

The LED´s on the board light up, but there are two bulging chip´s near the hdmi/dvi/lan/usb on the board that I suspect is fried. The only LED light that turns on is the southbridge cooler and the strip that goes from bottom to i/o ports. I can't for the life of me find out what make and model these two chips are as their are 4 of them and they are quite worn. I'm wondering if I de-solder the two "blown" ones will it work ? As I'm not that bothered about the I/O ports on the back of the board.

Hello Mattias ,

this is a difficult one. Yes, you can de-solder them and see what happens. But I suspect they are in a circuit that is critical for system's functioning.

If they are near by to each other then may be they are of the same type, look what is written on those that are still alive; may be to try solder in the same chips and see what happens.
