Acer Aspire Intel i3 Overheats

by Franc

Hi, Acer Aspire Intel i3 2200GHz Windows 10 is slow and I see that the temperature of the processor is always > 80°C and sometimes it shoots down. So I cleaned the fan and for some hours the laptop is running well at 50°C but suddenly it shoot down. I power on but after 4 seconds it shoots down. I have not replaced the thermal paste on the CPU. Can you help me? Thanks, Franc.

Hello,

You must replace the thermal paste. There is no other way. Please use one that is silver or gold color.

instantly after power on?

Hi,
you say that instantly after power on the system or better the CPU overheats and a sensor sends a shoot down message, and that's because there is no thermal paste between CPU and fan?

Thanks
Franc

Yes, most likely it shuts down because of this.

Also there should be some paste in there but probably it has dried up.
